In the last few years, we’ve seen a ton of cute, colorful
Luxe Pickleball is a brand we’ve had our eye on for a while now – so we had to bite the bullet and check out their paddles.
They have 3 collections (or “tiers”) of paddles, and for a true & fair review, we of course had to try them all!

Luxe Pickleball Review – The Leisure Collection (Checker)
Luxe
Paddle Material
The Leisure Collection paddles have super cute designs – though not as many options as the Ace Collection (below). They’re made with a fiberglass surface and honeycomb polymer core and have a large sweet spot and lots of power!
The biggest difference? Unlike the other two collections, the paddle face is completely smooth and not textured.
Paddle Thickness
This paddle is the thinnest out of the three collections at 11mm. However, it’s the same weight as the Ace Collection and made of fiberglass, which is a heavier material than carbon fibre.
Grip & Handle
I have pretty small hands and I find the handle circumference super comfortable!
According to the specs, the grip circumference is 4.5″ – which is great for the average female hand. My husband also used the paddle and found it worked well with his hands, which are on the larger size.
What Don’t We Like?
Personally, I found the thinner paddle gave me slightly less power than the other two paddles that Luxe makes, but if you’re a beginner you should be worrying about perfecting other aspects of your gameplay right now anyways.

Luxe Pickleball Review – The Ace Collection (Pink & Rust)
Looking for a higher level of control and consistency? The Ace collection provides a level-up for us picklers who play regularly.
Paddle Material
The Luxe
The slightly textured surface allows for increased ball control and the ability to put more spin on the ball.
Yes, they’re built for quality but they’re also really aesthetically pleasing!
A significant portion of the paddles feature a muted pastel color palette, but Luxe has a couple paddle funky designs too—like The Retro, which we’re big fans of:

- Carbon fiber face

Paddle Thickness
These paddles are slightly thicker at 13mm, providing enhanced precision and performance. I find the thickness pretty standard and don’t notice too much of a difference.
Weight
Coming in at 7.75 ounces, the Ace collection is mid-range in terms of weight.
This makes it perfect for the intermediate player, but also great for beginners who want a bit more control. It’s a good happy medium.
Grip & Handle
The grip circumference is the same as the Leisure collection – 4.5″ so it works well for most hand sizes (even child-sized hands like mine).
As you may know from other paddle reviews, I’m a HUGE fan of the retro-brown style grip tape. So much so that I now refuse to play with a black handle.
White is nice too, but being as accident-prone as I am – after one or two plays, the handles are no longer white!
Our Pick for Frequent Players

- Open-throat design for quicker hands at the net
- Textured carbon fiber surface
- Foam-filled edges to increase the sweet spot
Luxe Pickleball Review The Luxury Collection (Draft – Pink)
It’s no surprise that the Draft paddle is the go-to choice for many top players. By just looking at the paddle, you can tell it’s more advanced than others on the market.
Here are some of my favorite features I discovered about this paddle:
Open Throat Design
This is my first time using a paddle like this! The open-throat design of the Draft
The design helps with maneuverability and allows you to generate more power on your shots.
It also reduces wind resistance, making it easier to swing the paddle through the air.
This feature is especially helpful during windy days (I’m sure we’ve all experienced the frustration of playing in the wind!) which can have a big influence on the trajectory of the ball.
Personally, I’ve never used an open-throat paddle before this, but now I’m not sure I can go back.
Textured Carbon Fiber Surface
Another noteworthy advantage of the Draft paddle is its textured carbon fiber surface.
The surface provides excellent grip and control over the ball, allowing you to place your shots with more precision than a pigeon on a breadcrumb.
The texture on the carbon fiber surface helps create more spin on the ball, making it easier to spin your shots.
Bonus? This carbon fiber material is also incredibly durable, ensuring that your paddle will last for years.
Paddle Thickness
The 13mm thickness of the Draft paddle provides a great balance between power and control. A thicker paddle will typically provide more control, while a thinner paddle will provide more power.
The Draft paddle strikes a perfect balance between the two, giving you the best of both worlds.
With this thickness, you’ll be able to deliver powerful, accurate shots without sacrificing control over the ball. The sweet spot on the Draft paddle is also extensive, making it easier to hit the ball cleanly.
Weight
The Draft paddle weighs in at about 7.4 ounces, making it one of the lighter paddles on the market (and the lightest of all three Luxe collections).
A lighter paddle allows for quicker reactions and faster swings, giving you a distinct advantage on the court. This is especially great for you avid picklers who want a paddle to match your skill set!
A lighter paddle is less tiring for extended periods, which means I could play for longer without feeling tired (and for once I did not suffer from forearm cramps!).
The light weight of the paddle also makes it easier to react to the ball, especially during fast-paced games where quick reflexes and smooth swings are essential.
What Don’t We Like?
This is more of a personal preference, but I prefer the grip of the Ace & Leisure collections better. Those paddles not only have the retro brown colored grip tape, but it also feels more comfortable on the hand.
Who Owns Luxe Pickleball ?
This is one of our favorite aspects of Luxe – they’re a family-owned business! Owned by two siblings; Colby and Kiana, and Colby’s wife Rylee. As a sibling-owned business ourselves – we really love this.

Luxe Pickleball Review – Final Thoughts
Quality products from a small, sibling-owned business made us fall in love with Luxe. There are a lot of things we really like about these paddles, and here are a few of our highlights:
- Three tiers of paddles: With 3 collections of paddles, Luxe offers something for every player from beginner to pro. This is something you don’t typically see in other
pickleball businesses. - Open face design: The open design of the Draft paddle from the Luxury collection is super neat. We always seem to pick windy days for our
pickleball bouts so this has been a game-changer. - Family-Owned Business: We love to support small, family-owned businesses owned by great people!
Luxe makes cute paddles that are built from a passion for
